Man shot and stabbed among crimes reported this morning

The incident is under investigation.

It’s been confirmed that a property on Tennis Road in Weltevreden Park was burgled earlier today, Wednesday, 17 October.

According to the information the Northsider has obtained, the incident happened during the morning. “Nobody was home. The criminals broke the gate motor and left it on manual, then stole a flat screen television and a safe,” said Dave Baxter, the Panorama Resident’s Association chairperson. Dave said that preventative measures could have been actioned sooner if the owners were part of an RA. “Had there been members of an RA nearby, the response could have been much quicker,” he said.

In a separate incident, it was reported that a resident survived an attack in a complex on Beretta Street in Wilgeheuwel, after he was allegedly shot twice in the leg and stabbed multiple times in the back.

It is unclear how the incident transpired. However, both incidents are being investigated by police.
