Florida’s Adielah had a dream race

'Initially, our plan was to run the 10km race together, but we are all way too competitive!'

Adielah Johnson, the the Get It SPAR Women’s Challenge Joburg Face of the Race 2018 runner-up, had a blast at this year’s Spar Women’s Race.

She said that she spent the day with the three other finalists and they had an amazing time, and she explained, “Initially, our plan was to run the 10km race together, but we are all way too competitive! Out of the four, I finished first in a time of one hour and nine minutes. I had a lot of fun.”

Adielah added that she was grateful for the opportunity to spend the day in the VIP area and said, “I met some of the top runners like Gerda Steyn and Irvette van Zyl, and had the opportunity to meet the band members from Denim as well.”

But the best part of her day was when she handed in the 140 pairs of running shoes collected through the ‘Drop a Pair and show you care’campaign, and she concluded by saying, “This was an experience I would not trade for anything else in the world. I felt so special and spoilt with the gifts from Spar and Get It magazine – they truly made me feel like a princess. I will definitely not miss any of the Spar races in the future.”
