JUST IN: Residents block Beyers Naudé Drive because of illegal connections
Residents of Zandspruit have started barricading Beyers Naudé Drive and Marina Road with bricks and tyres to stage a protest this morning, Monday 15 October.
According to Johannesburg Metro Police’s Superintendent Wandile Mrubata, who is at the scene monitoring the situation, the demonstration is believed to have been sparked by the electrocution of two children in the area. The electrocutions are apparently the result of illegal electrical connections.
