Bullet proof saves life of an unsuspecting security officer

The officer was not injured thanks to the bullet proof he was wearing which protected him

Residents have been cautioned to stay away from the Witwatersrand greetbelt which borders Christiaan de Wet Road in Little Falls following a shooting that almost cost the life of a security officer.

A BCI security officer was shot at by a perpetrator in the afternoon of 4 October while locking the pedestrian gate in the greetbelt.

Fortunately, according to Gary Jordaan, the company’s media liaison, the officer was not injured thanks to the bullet proof he was wearing which protected him.

“A single gunman approached him and shot him twice in the stomach thankfully the officer was wearing bullet proof vest fortunately the bullets penetrated the vest and he was checked out by ER24 paramedics as he was in shock but sustain no injury in the shooting,”  Jordaan explained.
