Roodepoort detective praised for good work
Murderer sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment
Meticulous investigation by detective Sergeant Godfrey Shilaluke from the Roodepoort Police led to a murderer being convicted and sentenced.
The accused, 26-year-old Moses Mxolisi Ngqalo, was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court.
Shilaluke arrested the accused in Weltevreden Park on 26 June last year. He thoroughly investigated the case and when the accused went to trial, he was found guilty of murder and sentenced on 18 September.

In terms of Section 130 of the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000, the accused was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
The Roodepoort Police station commander, Brigadier Sam Manala was very pleased with Shilaluke and said, “I applaud the detective for the excellent investigative work he has done on the case, which ensured we could take another criminal off the streets”.
