Mount Usumbara set alight by Charter matrics
The Grade 12 learners from Charter College took over Mount Usambara on Thusday, 13 September for their matric dance.
Charter College International High School’s matrics finally had their chance to shine when they held their annual matric dance at Mount Usambara on Thursday, 13 September.
Masked in mystery and draped in decadence, a masquerade ball is never anything short of magical. Once held solely for the upper classes, masquerade balls date back to Venice, Italy in the 15th century at the beginning of the Renaissance movement, when art, beauty and the imagination reigned supreme.
For any high school learner, your matric dance is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular nights of your schooling career and whether it’s the dance itself or the after-party with friends, the night will remain a memory that you will never forget.
The matrics did not disappoint in terms of sticking to the masquerade ball theme, as they set the venue alight with their stunning outfits.
The ‘Black’ carpet was rolled out and candles were lit as they waited for the evening’s special guests to arrive. When 5pm came and the guests of honour finally arrived, the boys were suited up, the girls swirled in with glitz and glam, and the scent of perfume and excitement filled the air.
