Equine Assisted Riding, Therapy and Healing (Earth) centre has announced its move to become an independent entity.
This means the South African Riding for the Disabled Association (Sarda) that started the Ruimsig-based organisation in 2013 will no longer be part of the centre.
According to the Earth Centre, this exciting and important change will allow the organisation to ensure stricter governance to sponsors, cultivate a more social-entrepreneurial approach, as well as increase its impact and geographical reach.
The Earth Centre is a registered NPC (non-profit company), NPO (non-profit organisation) and PBO (public-benefit organisation) and is made up of individuals who are passionate about helping disabled people through horse therapy. The Centre wishes to provide all disabled people access to a therapy that can improve their health and lives, and create hope for their future. It reaches out to a variety of schools and communities in the greater Johannesburg area with the aim of assisting as many people as possible.
As part of creating awareness about the new brand, the centre launched the #MovingForwardWithTheEarthCentre awareness campaign, which will be running from 17 September to 3 October, using various social media platforms, print and radio mediums to maximise the campaign’s reach.
