Family fun at Discovery Methodist Church’s fete

It offered something for everyone

The Discovery Methodist Church’s family fun fete was a day filled with fun and laughter for young and old.

Kay Pridgeon, the coordinator of the fete, said, “Today’s event is a fundraising project for the church. All proceeds will be used to serve the community. It was also an outreach to ensure everyone who visited felt welcome and could experience some fellowship while having fun.

“Visitors could browse through a variety of stalls, including a white elephant table, a book stall, various arts and crafts and much more. For the hungry, there were pancakes, boerewors rolls, cakes, sweets and cold drinks, while the children had their own dedicated area where they enjoyed playing on the jumping castle and having their faces painted.

Visitors could also participate in a talent competition, and for the men there was a man cave. “All of our stalls were manned by congregation members, and we want to thank them for their support and hard work, without which this day would not have been possible,” Kay said.

Michaella Hulley and Heather Seymour manned the teddy bear stall.

She concluded by thanking everyone who attended the fete, and said, “The community’s support also contributed greatly to the success of the day”.
