State property to be auctioned off

No deposits, only cash to be accepted at the auction.

Various items of state property will be up for grabs next month when the West Rand Cluster hosts an auction in Roodepoort.

The Roodepoort Police Station situated at 1 Randskroon Street in Horison will hold the auction on 16 October where enthusiastic buyers will bid on state equipment that will include laptops and bags, computers, televisions, radios, DVDs, clothing, Hi-Fis, speakers, tyres, camp chairs, amplifiers, lawn mowers, microwaves, tools, sunglasses and generators, desks and steel filing cabinets.

The viewing will be from 9am to 10am.

Elaborating on the special conditions, Honeydew Police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said it will be a silent auction, which is run without taking bids. Instead, bids are written on a sheet of paper that is commonly placed before or next to the item.

Muthan further explained that no deposits and only cash will be accepted. He also advised that television licences are to be produced when purchasing televisions.
