Hoërskool Bastion’s first team found its form once again with a strong win over Bergsig Academy, to come back from a harsh loss at the hands of Hoërskool Florida last week.
Going into the match, Bastion stood in third place in Pool A, behind second-placed Hoërskool Linden. Bergsig had also earned themselves two wins in the series prior to the game, and were hoping to move above Bastion.

Bergsig drew first blood through a penalty, but not long after, Bastion slotted a penalty of their own. Bastion then took the game by the scruff of the neck, dominating proceedings for the remainder of the match.
At half-time Bastion held a 10–3 lead, looking to secure a bonus point in the second half. Bastion scored their second and third tries of the game, and seemed to have the bonus point in the bag. But, Bergsig replied with a try of their own, meaning Bastion needed to score again for the bonus point.

They did just that, in the final movement of the game, as fly-half Tiaan Naudé ended the game with a perfect kicking record for a 31–8 Bastion win.
