Several unsuspecting motorists endured the worst experience while driving along Hendrik Potgieter Road between Fredenharry Road and Nic Diederichs Roads in Strubens Valley, due to an unexpected trench that left their tyres and rims damaged.

A warning was issued by BCI Security after they had assisted about 11 motorists who had their tyres damaged on the evening of Sunday, 2 September.

According to the security company, the trench was dug by a contractor that is currently doing roadworks in the area. The contractor filled the trench with sand but with the amount of traffic on Hendrik Potgieter Road, the sand quickly dispersed, leaving a dangerous hole.
