Jam assures community of stability of organisation following co-founder’s passing
After receiving questions regarding its future, Jam International has assured the public that the future of the organisation is in good hands.
Following the passing away of Joint Aid Management (Jam) International co-founder, Peter Pretorius, the organisation has reassured the public that it will continue operating as before.
According to a statement by Jam International’s non-executive chairman, Arvind Magan, the organisation has been receiving questions regarding the future of the organisation and its leadership role. Arvind reassured the public that the situation is under control, saying that Peter had put measures in place prior to his passing.
“Peter made provision for his passing by establishing an advisory team to ensure stability in the weeks and months after his death and to lead the succession process,” Arvind said. “We would like to assure you that the organisation is in good hands and that the executive and management team who worked alongside Peter are well positioned to ensure that the organisation continues to operate effectively.”
The advisory council that has been set up consists of a number of individuals who worked closely with Peter in his years at Jam. The council consists of Ann Pretorius (co-founder); Arvind Magan (Jam International’s non-executive chairman); Isak Pretorius; Angie Stankovic (Jam International COO), and Jackie Vorster (Jam International Marketing VP).
“This advisory council, together with the International Board, will ensure a smooth and timeous leadership succession and interim executive decision making role,” continued Arvind.
He added that Peter’s widow, Ann, will assume the role of lead senior representative of Jam, and will be supported by the above-mentioned advisory council. “We appreciate your [the public’s] continued support, dedication and partnership in ensuring we continue Peter and Jam’s legacy well into the future,” Arvind concluded.
