Tuks takes the spoils against Panorama
A tough day at home for Panorama, they only manged two draws and two losses against Tuks.
Panorama Football Club’s academy teams had a tough outing against the University of Pretoria, with the U/13s and U/17s the only sides to not lose on the day.
The U/13 team from Panorama continued their quest for a top-half finish with a game against the University of Pretoria, who were 19th on the log prior to the encounter. Despite being the better-placed side going into the match, Panorama struggled to dominate their opponents who have been unable to make their mark on the league this season.
In a tense game that ebbed and flowed in entertaining fashion, the two U/13 teams found themselves deadlocked at 3–3 when the final whistle blew. Despite only getting a draw out of the game, Panorama managed to lift themselves into 9th place on the log, just inside the top half of the table.
The U/15s struggled once again to find their feet and were dominated by the best-placed Tuks team in this year’s Gauteng Development League (GDL). The U/15 Tuks team found itself in third place on the table after their 3–1 victory over Panorama.
Pano’s U/17 team continued their impressive run in the GDL this season, as they took on a Tuks team that was barely inside the top half of the table. Going into the match, the better-placed Panorama were favourites as they looked to extend their unbeaten run in the GDL to seven games.
Unfortunately for Panorama, they weren’t quite up to standard on the day, only managing a 2–2 draw against a now ninth-placed Tuks. Panorama’s draw was the second in a row, and their seventh game unbeaten, so they stayed in fourth place, three points behind Supersport United and Wits Junior.
Panorama’s lowest-placed side this season, their U/19s, once again failed to earn points against a struggling Tuks side. Tuks went into the game with four games without a win, and looking to find their form again.
Panorama dominated the majority of the game thanks to solid defensive and midfield efforts. However, the attacking aspect wasn’t up to scratch on the day, as they were unable to convert numerous chances.
Tuks never gave up, and in the final 10 minutes converted one of their few chances in the game, to earn themselves a 1–0 win. This means Panorama remains rooted to the foot of the table, as they missed an opportunity to possibly move into 17th place.
