MMC inspects Roodepoort
With Spring racing in, the City wants to ensure that residents have places to go to when they want to relax
The Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Community Development in the City of Johannesburg, councillor Nonhlanhla Sifumba, recently visited Roodepoort visited to conduct an inspection of swimming pools and recreational facilities.

The aim of these inspections is to ensure that the pools and recreation centres will be opened on 1 September which is the start of the swimming season. With Spring racing in, the City wants to ensure that residents have places to go to when they want to relax. However, due to a few delays, residents are advised that Roodepoort swimming pool may re-open a few days later.
She inspected the Witpoortjie Recreation Centre, Davidsonville swimming pool, Roodepoort swimming pool, Florida swimming pool and Fleurhof Community Centre.
The visits to recreational facilities aim to ensure that the requisite repairs and maintenance are carried out in compliance with Occupational and Health standards, and also to ensure that the residents have a positive experience when they visit our centres.
The inspections will be carried out per region throughout the City.
