The estimated time to repair the transformer at the Eikenhof Substation that caught fire last night is set for 8pm tonight. It was also mentioned that electricity will be restored to Rand Water.
Five more water points have been added, namely:
– Flora Clinic (refilling their reserve tanks)
– Clearwater Mall
– Die Ruiter Primary School, Abertina Sisulu Road, Hamberg
– Arthur Matthews Primary School, Ontdekers Road and Die Oupad, Florida
– Hoërskool Florida, Louis Botha Street
Residents are urged to use water sparingly as it comes back on
Residents of Roodepoort have been left without water due to the fire at the Eikenhof Substation yesterday, 27 August.

Water tanks will be available at the following areas, to assist residents who do not have any water:
• Discovery Clinic (Clarendon Drive and Ekstein Street)
• Florida Clinic (Madeline and 3rd Streets )
• Roodepoort Clinic (Rex and Meyer Streets)
• Ons Huis Old Age Home (Madeline Street)
• Fleurhof (Helpmekaar Street)
• Fleurhof (Fever Tree Flats)
• Florida (Maud Street and 9th Ave)
• Florida (Albertina Sisulu and 4th Roads)
• Florida (Eider Road and Lepelaar Street)
• Florida Caltex Garage (Albertina Sisulu Road)
• Roodepoort (Maré and Gustav Streets)
• Roodepoort Flats (Luttig Street)
• Fleurhof RDP Flats
More water tanks are being prepared and residents will be updated about their locations.
