And so time flies

Roelien Vorster writes

It is almost time to do Christmas shopping again.

Don’t believe me? Here is a disturbing thought, there are only 17 Mondays left before we celebrate Christmas. Yep, only 17.

It feels like just last week that we returned to work after a short Christmas break, and before you know it, we’ll have to hit the shopping malls to buy presents again.

We’ll have to elbow our way through the mayhem just to find that perfect gift for the special someone, make plans for where you are going to spend that magical day, cook, clean, buy wrapping paper, clean again and do all the fun things surrounding Christmas. And after all that, you start looking around for the quickest way to lose all the weight you picked up. It is also the time for criminals to hit harder than usual, especially around the time you start buying gifts.

On the bright side, there is still enough time left to upgrade your security system, make the necessary arrangements to keep your pets safe during the holiday and to ensure your car is roadworthy for the long trip to the beach, if that is where you are going.

Now, if you add just one more Monday to the list, we will be saying goodbye to this year, and entering a brand new year with brand new challenges. Where did time fly to?

I heard someone say the older you get the quicker the days fly past, and although I didn’t believed it then, it is starting to ring true.

Have you done everything you wanted to do this year? If not, the good news is that you have at least 18 weeks left to get a few items off your bucket list.

Speaking of bucket lists, let me know what you have written down on yours. Email it to roelienv@caxton.co.za.

Until next week, take care of one another.
