Fundraiser to help Witpoortjie bowlers go to tournament
A variety of fun activities planned for the day
Three teams from the Witpoortjie Bowling Club have qualified for participation in the upcoming national tournament, and they need the community’s help.
“We have two men’s and one women’s U/30 teams that will be going to Pietermaritzburg to play in the national tournament. We would like to help them financially, and that is why we decided to host a fun day,” said George Nysschen, the Club’s President.
He added that they are planning to host the fun day on 1 September and said, “We have a lot of fun activities planned for the day, including playing a bowling tournament in a golf day format, having a darts competition, and much more. There will also be a lot of prizes to be won.”
Participants will only pay R100 per person, which will include something to eat.
“We would like to appeal to the community and business owners to consider helping us through either a donation or a sponsorship,” George said.
