Pano grind through tough 50:50 day against Sporting

Panorama's U/17 side remains the only Pano side to place in the top half of the log.

Panorama Football Club’s Gauteng Development League teams continued on their roller-coaster ride last weekend when two of the four sides were victorious against Sporting Football Club Johannesburg.

The matches kicked off early in the morning, with the U/13 sides locking horns first. The U/13 Pano side went into the game off the back of a 4–2 loss to Kaizer Chiefs, and were hoping to bounce back at home.

Unfortunately for the home side however, the boys were unable to find their feet and lost out 5–3, allowing Sporting to move to within one point of Panorama, which lies 12th on its log.

Next up was the U/15 team which, unlike the U/13s, was able to bounce back from a defeat by Kaizer Chiefs in their previous game. A strong performance from the boys from Radiokop saw them claim a 2–1 victory over second-from-bottom Sporting. The Panorama U/15 side now also lies 12th on its log.

Panorama’s most successful side so far this season, the U/17s, was the highest-placed Panorama team heading into the weekend, following a 1–1 draw with Chiefs in their previous outing. The U/17s extended their unbeaten streak to three games, thanks to a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Sporting, keeping a number of strong attacking waves at bay towards the end of the game. The U/17 side lies seventh on its log.

Finally, Panorama’s least successful side this season, and last on the log, the U/19s, looked to grind out a point against Sporting, which now lies in 10th place on the log. Panorama was unable to achieve the second draw of the season, and conceded a penalty which was subsequently converted by Sporting.
