Totalsports Women’s Race Durban success builds hype for Joburg race

The Totalsports Women's Race in Durban was a roaring success, and has only built up hype for the upcoming Johannesburg edition.

We are getting closer and closer to the Johannesburg edition of the Totalsports Women’s Race next week, and with the success of the Durban edition, runners are even more excited to #RunUnited.

The streets of Durban were painted pink at the end of July as thousands of runners ran united for the Totalsports Women’s Race in aid of PinkDrive.

“The Totalsports Women’s Race was really well received in Durban at the end of the July,” said Patrick Singh, Head of Marketing at Totalsports. “We are excited to bring the action to the streets of Johannesburg and Cape Town on National Women’s Day.”

The race will start from Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown on Thursday, 9 August as thousands of runners brave the early morning cold from as early as 5am.

Funds raised on the day will go towards PinkDrive in support of breast cancer awareness.

“We encourage all entrants to help us support the PinkDrive by spreading their message that ‘early detection saves lives’,” said Singh. “We look forward to seeing a sea of pink #RunUnited at the Totalsports Women’s Race on National Women’s Day.”

Each entrant will receive a fitted event T-shirt, a finisher’s bracelet, and a Totalsports head scarf and can look forward to a memorable performance by Sho Madjozi. Registration will take place at Museum Africa in Newtown on Tuesday, 7 August from 10am to 5pm, and on Wednesday, 8 August from 9am to 5pm.
