An 81-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries after she managed to fight off two men who attempted to strangle her during a business robbery in Honeydew on 1 August.

According to Drift Reaction, a security company that assisted with the arrest of one of the suspects, the elderly woman was in the second-hand shop when her daughter, the owner, quickly ran out to get lunch.

Two men entered the shop and one called her to the back. He pushed her to the ground and started strangling her.

The elderly woman fought back by kicking him and trying to scream. The other attacker then grabbed a laptop and the two ran off.
