
I am very disappointed with the incompetence of Joburg Water.
They disconnected my water in error recently. The disconnection [letter] is addressed to my neighbour, but my meter was disconnected even though my account is paid up to date.
When I called them, I was promised that the matter will be escalated. I went to the Florida office, but I was sent to Swiss House. I spent the whole day there, and the woman who was assisting me called the guys to notify them of the error. The man confirmed that it was sorted out, but when I got home it was still not fixed. I called again and I was advised it will be done that day. When I got home after work, there was still no water.
I called yet again and the guy who picked up the phone called the one who is supposed to come and fix it. He called me back to say someone will be there in 15 minutes. I have not had water for four days, yet my account is up to date. My house is in mess.
An employee from Joburg Water also nearly drove over me. He was sent out to cut the water. He was on the phone with the owner of the house. I requested that he fix my water [problem], but he refused.
So I stood in front of his car. He accelerated towards me, [threatening] to bump me.
