Yet another outage scheduled for Welties, Allens Nek and Panorama AH

Several extensions of Weltevreden Park will once again be without power tomorrow night.

Despite already having to endure scheduled outages twice last week, Weltevreden Park, as well as certain parts of Allens Nek and Panorama AH, will once again be hit with a scheduled outage tomorrow night.

Residents in Weltevreden Park are arguably the most frustrated individuals in Roodepoort at the moment, especially when one considers the fact that they were without power twice last week, with yet another outage scheduled for tomorrow. Last week however, only 10 extensions of the suburb were powerless, while this week four times that number will have their power cut off.

According to a public announcement issued by the power utility, the outages are once again “necessary to do essential maintenance work on our [City Power] network”. They justify the maintenance further by saying that it is “part of our [City Power] program[me] of constantly striving to provide better service”.

From 10pm tomorrow, Tuesday, 24 July until 6am on Wednesday, 25 July, the following extensions and areas will be without power:

Allens Nek Extensions 3, 4 and 9; the whole of Panorama AH, and Weltevreden Park Extensions 1 – 4, 6, 9, 10, 17 – 19, 24, 26, 28, 30, 34, 36, 38, 41, 47, 56, 59, 79, 82, 83, 85, 86, 96, 98 – 101, 103, 107, 111, 123, 125 – 127, 133 and 134.
