Princess thanks SPCA for the work they do
SPCA movement represented at royal tea
A former Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA chairman and part-time staff member recently had the pleasure of meeting a princess and having tea with her.
Christine Kuch, who is also a trustee of the Giving Organisation which represents the National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA), said, “I received an invitation to join Her Serene Highness (HSH) Princess Charlene of Monaco, as well as the Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu for tea at Emperors Palace. HSH Charlene was in South Africa to be part of the celebrations which would have been former President Nelson Mandela’s 100th birthday”.

Former President Nelson Mandela was the Patron-in-Chief of the SPCA movement for almost 20 years, until his passing in 2013.
She added that HSH Charlene is the co-patron of the Giving Organisation, and what made the meeting that more special, was the gratitude expressed for the work of the SPCA movement. “I have always firmly believed that the SPCA as a whole has credibility. Standing together gives us strength which is recognised and appreciated on behalf of the animals we serve,” Christine said.
Christine was also invited to join the Princess and the Archbishop Emeritus at the Nelson Mandela Foundation, to celebrate Madiba’s 100th birthday.
She concluded by saying, “It was indeed an honour for the SPCA movement to be represented as well as receive recognition for the work we do. I consider this to be a tribute to my colleagues and their dedication”.
