Taking care of animals as well

Claw relies on contributions from the community

After a recent donation to the Roodepoort SPCA, the Ontdekkers Park South Blockwatch (OPSB) decided to extend a helping to Community Led Animal Welfare (Claw).

Claw is a well-known animal welfare organisation based in Durban Deep, Roodepoort. The organisation was founded by Cora Bailey and is run without any financial assistance from government or the local council. Cora relies totally on contributions from members of the public and other volunteer organisations.

It is worthwhile noting that Claw has even assisted the OPSB in the rescue of animals. A few years ago, Vic Viviers spotted a monkey running around in the Rand Water property. It was thanks to Cora that the monkey was rescued by Animals In Distress and returned to its natural habitat.

The response from our members was incredible, so much so that we had to make two deliveries to Claw!
