Dog rescued by Roodepoort SPCA inspectors
Dog was stuck under container

Two Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA inspectors were recently alerted by concerned community members to a dog that was stuck under a container in Chamdor.
Inspectors Mike Allen and Anica Pretorius rushed to the scene, where they found the petrified dog, too scared to even move. According to Mandy Cattanach, SPCA manager, Allen tried everything to lure out from under the container.

“He lay flat on his side in an effort to reach the dog, but that is when he noticed that it was not only stuck under the container, but entangled in electrical wiring as well.
With a lot of patience and coaxing, he eventually managed to rescue the dog, and he was transported to the SPCA, where he received a warm bowl of food and a soft bed,” she said.
Mandy added that the dog will be up for adoption if he has not been claimed by his owners within the 96-hour pound period.

She concluded by saying, “We urge community members to contact their nearest SPCA immediately if they notice any animal that is in distress. We will then send out an inspector to assist with the situation.”
