Education is the key to a brighter future

"Without a sense of caring there can be no sense of community," said head teacher of Smart Minds, Stella Tshishinga.

“When I walked the in the streets of Princess, I see children who should be in a nursery school, playing in the street and this would break my heart because I know that most of the families at Princess are unemployed and can not afford to take their children to a nursery school. I then decided to qualify as a nursery school teacher and I opened Smart Minds,” she said.

“It has made a big difference in my community because the children now have a place to go to during the day and they partake in educational programmes. But, because we are still a new school we are still lacking a lot of things,” Stella added.

Residents are urged to donate toys, kitchen utensils including plastic cups, dishes, spoons, cots, mattress, mats, corrugated iron sheet, cement.
