Power, pipeline project part of top issues at info table
Ward 126 councillor, David Brand, set up an information table in Weltevrden Park on Saturday, 30 June.
Residents from parts of Weltevreden Park, Allen’s Nek, Fairland, and Randpark Ridge were recently granted the opportunity to bring to light some of the pending issues in their area.
Ward 126 councillor, David Brand, set up shop on the corner of Rinyani Avenue and Kastaiing Street, on Saturday, 30 June, and welcomed residents who fall within his ward who wished to raise their issues with him. The morning was successful, as a large number of residents turned out to speak to their councillor.
“We are very happy with the turnout that we’ve seen over the last two hours,” councillor Brand said. “There have been a few topics that have been brought up, and most of the residents seemed satisfied with the information we were able to provide.”
Of all the topics mentioned on the day, however, the two dominant themes seemed to be the ongoing electricity issue and the F46 Rand Water Project, both in Weltevreden Park.
Councillor Brand emphasised that his role as a councillor is to “provide a voice in council for the people” and that he cannot do so if residents don’t continue to provide him with feedback.
