A new committee was elected during the Discovery Community Forum’s (DCF) annual general meeting.
The meeting was well attended by members, who braved the cold weather to cast their votes.
During the meeting, before the voting started, a change to the DCF’s constitution was proposed and passed. “We changed the constitution so that a person who is nominated for Chairman will only be eligible for the position if he or she has served at least two years as a member of the DCF. Those who are nominated for the positions of Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer will only be eligible if they have served as a committee member for at least one year,” said Marion Kelly, a DCF committee member.
The newly appointed committee consists of:
• Justin Bezuidenhout (Chairperson)
• John Gafney (Vice-chairperson)
• Sue Blair (Secretary)
• Sue Tyson (Treasurer)
• David Holtshausen
• Hennie Matthews
• Jim Blair
• Marion Burns
• Marion Kelly
• Nadeen Bezuidenhout
“The committee is looking forward to serving the community in the upcoming year. Should you have any queries, suggestions or complaints, please send us an email on discoverycommunityforum@gmail.com. You can also join the community and get involved by liking our Facebook pages, Discovery Community Forum or I Love Discovery,” Marion concluded.
