What not to miss in sport this weekend!

Here’s what’s happening in the sporting world on 30 June and 1 July.

The Herald has compiled a list of some must-see sporting action to be broadcast on television from Saturday, 30 June to Sunday, 1 July.

SATURDAY, 30 JUNE:

• Rugby:

Super Rugby is back after a lengthy absence due to the International Rugby window break. Two NZ teams, the Highlanders and Chiefs will get Day 2 of Round 17 under way on Saturday morning at 9.30am, followed by a mouthwatering clash between Australia’s Brumbies and Super Rugby title contenders, the Hurricanes, at 11.40am. The first SA teams to be in action this weekend are the Bulls when they meet Japan’s Sunwolves at 1.50pm. Finally, you can watch the Jaguares against the Stormers at 7.30pm.

Don’t miss the knockout stages of this year’s Soccer World Cup in Russia! Four teams will be in action at 3.45pm and 7.45pm respectively. The teams had not been confirmed at the time of going to print.

If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, try the following …

• Champions’ Trophy (men’s hockey) with Argentina taking on Australia at 1.45pn and Netherlands vs India at 3.45pm.

• IAAF Diamond League in Paris (athletics) from 7.55pm.

• Third practice round of the Formula One Grand Prix in Austria (motorsport) at 11.45am.

• Qualifying round for the MotoGP in Netherlands (motorsport) at 2pm.

• Qualifying round for the Formula One Grand Prix in Austria (motorsport) at 2.55pm

• Day 3 of the US Senior Open (Golf) from 10pm

SUNDAY, 1 JULY

• Rugby:

Quarterfinals matches of the SuperSport Rugby Challenge between the Sharks and Lions at 12.55pm followed by Western Province taking on Free State at 2.55pm.

• Football:

Don’t miss the knockout stages of this year’s Soccer World Cup in Russia! Four teams will be in action at 3.45pm and 7.45pm respectively. The teams had not been confirmed at the time of going to print.

If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, try the following …

• The 5th/ 6th, 3rd/ 4th playoffs and final of the Champions Trophy (men’s hockey) at 11.30am, 1.45pm and 4pm respectively.

• MotoGP main race in Netherlands (motorsport) at 2pm.

• Day 4 of the US Senior Open (golf) from 10pm.

• Formula One Grand Prix main race in Austria (motorsport) at 3pm.

• Nascar Cup series (motorsport) from 8.30pm
