Mulaudzi praises rapid response by fire-fighters
Joburg EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi said,“The handover of the new vehicle in Florida Park Fire Station contributed to the quick response because the vehicle is now readily available in the area to services all incidents in the area..."
The newly dispatched fire engine at the Florida Park Fire Station has already begun making a difference to response times.
This follows the rapid response that was witnessed on 21 June, when the personnel came out to douse the flames consuming a vehicle that had caught fire in the left-hand lane, just after the Ontdekkers and William Nicol Roads intersection in Constantia Kloof.

Although the Ford Fiesta was burnt beyond recognition, the City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services spokesperson, Robert Mulaudzi, said the quick response was thanks to new fire engine.
“The handover of the new vehicle to the Florida Park Fire Station contributed to the quick response. The new vehicle is now readily available in the area to service all incidents in the area.

We now don’t have to rely to nearby stations to assist the area when there is an emergency,” he said.
The Florida Park Fire Station received the new fire truck during a special handover ceremony which was attended by the City of Johannesburg mayor, Herman Mashaba along with the Member of Mayoral Committee for Public Safety, Michael Sun on 13 June.
Mulaudzi confirmed that there were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is still unknown at this stage.
