Senior residents impressed by the youth
They spent the morning picking up litter that had been dumped.
On 16 June, young people came out in their numbers and with the youth leader of the NG Kerk Culembeeck, they joined residents of Witpoortjie Senior Park for a clean-up. Ward 71 councillor René Benjamin, Ward 84 councillor Gert Niemand, Ward 82 councillor Susan Stewart, Ward 70 councillor Caleb Finn from the Roodepoort Constituency, Ward 83 councillor Suzanne Clarke and Ward 89 councillor Ingrid Reinten came to show their support for the initiative.

The youngsters started their celebrations on Friday afternoon by washing windows at the Engine Garage on Corlett Avenue. They spent the morning picking up litter that had been dumped and some took up the challenge to try using a weed eater for the first time.

The Senior Park residents were blown away by the enthusiasm of the young troop and provided coffee, tea and biscuits to say thank you for a job well done.
