Midas does not condone this behaviour
Themba Ndimande is not a Midas employee
Midas South Africa is aware of the incident that recently took place outside its Midas Florida branch, and has released a statement confirming that Themba Ndimande is not an employee of Midas.
A video of the altercation, showing the Midas franchisee, Jay Govender, allegedly manhandling an employee, is doing the rounds.

Govender claimed the video was staged and if the rest of the video were to go public, a very different story would be told.
Brett Ferreira, Franchise Executive from Midas said, “We can confirm that the person [i.e. Themba Ndimande] involved in the altercation with the Midas Franchisee is a not an employee of Midas, nor is he a Midas customer.
“Midas does not condone aggression or violence of any nature and is committed to co-operating with the authorities involved.”
The public, however, had a few things to say about this behaviour:
Paul Smith said, “That was far from staged. The woman nearly had a heart attack when she saw the video of the owner.”

Adel van der Merwe Breet said: “No employer has the right to treat an employee in such a manner … no matter what. I know that person and he is a good person. Disgrace, sies man.”
Lionel Gafney agreed with Smith saying: “That’s not staged. That’s the person he is”, while Kim Lawson said, “I am not surprised. He swore at and threatened me a few years ago. I refused to go back after that.”
