ANC MP Sibusiso Radebe shot in Lindhaven

Police report that it was an attempted hijacking

A 40-year-old man was shot and killed during an attempted hijacking in Lindhaven last night (19 June).

The incident happened in Cabot Avenue at approximately 7.30pm.

The ANC Chief Whip, Jackson Mthembu, confirmed that the person who was killed was Sibusiso Radebe, an ANC Member of Parliament (MP).

“The Office of the ANC Chief Whip is in the process of notifying all the relevant structures of comrade Radebe’s passing, and will make the necessary arrangements to visit the family,” Mthembu said.

Brigadier Mathapelo Peters, the Gauteng Provincial Head of Corporate Communication, said in a press statement that the police were searching for two people who are allegedly responsible for the politician’s murder.
