Florida swimmers to compete in Italy

Swimming team will compete in two events

Six swimmers from the Florida Swimming Club (FSC) have qualified to represent their region at an international event in Italy.

Blake Godfrey, Tammy Frylinck, Danyal van der Schyff, Demi-Lee Carlisle, Amber Fourie and Joshua Honiball will be travelling to Italy to participate in training, as well as compete in two international events. The one event will be taking place in Pesaro and the other one in Treviso.

The team will be accompanied by FSC’s head coach and director of the programme conducted at Florida, Tracey Hemphill.

“A special mention must be made of FSC coaches, Andy Young and Melissa Hemmings, who have been a huge part of producing these sterling results,” Tracey said.

Florida is one of the oldest swimming clubs in the country and has been producing some of the province’s finest athletes. It is based at various venues on the West Rand, namely Krugersdorp (Seahorse Swimming Academy), Maragon Private Schools, Trinityhouse Little Falls and Discovery Orcas Swimming Centre.
