‘We sell these items at our charity shop to raise money’
The Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA’s charity shop forms an important part of the shelter’s continued existence.
“These items can be anything, from kettles, pots, pans, irons, plates, any kitchen items, ornaments, picture frames, furniture, carpets, clothing and bedding, to garden items, lawnmowers, and weed eaters, or books. In fact, anything you no longer need or use,” said Mandy Cattanach, manager at the Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA.
She added that they sell the items at the charity shop to help generate some extra income. “The money we get from the shop is used to help care for the animals, as well as for day-to-day maintenance, and comes in very handy,” she said.
Donations of pet food, blankets and old newspapers are also always welcomed, and can be dropped off at the SPCA, situated at 3 Nadine Street, Florida.
