Director of Public Prosecutions decides not to prosecute Tom Moyane.
Suspended South African Revenue Services (Sars) Commissioner, Tom Moyane, will no longer be facing charges of assault.
So said Eyewitness News (EWN), when it reported that the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) will not be prosecuting Moyane on the assault charge.
Moyane was expected to appear at the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on 1 June, but that did not happen as the Director of Public Prosecutions, Andrew Chauke, took a decision not to prosecute Moyane at this stage, according to EWN.

The former national commissioner of the Department of Correctional Services and chief executive of the Government Printing Works is accused of assaulting a teenage girl who was apparently in a relationship with his son at a Weltevreden Park home.
According to The Citizen, the teenager, who has a six-month-old baby with Moyane’s son, faced emotional abuse at the hands of Moyane prior to the assault.
Honeydew Police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan, confirmed that a case of common assault had been opened against Moyane last week, and said the matter is under investigation.
