Sars ex-boss, Tom Moyane, expected in court on Friday
Honeydew Police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan confirmed that a case of common assault had been opened against Moyane.
Suspended South African Revenue Service (Sars) commissioner, Tom Moyane, is expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court this Friday, 1 June, facing a charge of assault.
According to reports, Moyane, the former national commissioner of the Department of Correctional Services and chief executive of the Government Printing Works, is accused of assaulting a teenage girl who was apparently in a relationship with his son at a Weltevreden Park home.
According to The Citizen, the teenager, who has a six-month-old baby with Moyane’s son, had faced emotional abuse at the hands of Moyane prior to the assault.
