Can you provide these furbies with a forever home?
'They have been sterilised, vaccinated and microchipped'
“I refused to give up on them because they had no breeding,” said Mandy Robinson.
She is the owner and founder of the non-profit organisation (NPO) named Spaniel Rescue SA, but said that they do not only rescue spaniels. She explained, “We rescue anything that walks, crawls or flies. It also does not matter what breed it is, if it needs help, we will provide it and not turn a blind eye.”

She added that a dog does not look at humans and decide to love them because they are a certain breed and said, “As long as you care for them, feed them and shower them with a lot of love, they will love you forever.”
Mandy explained that they were contacted by community members from Krugersdorp West, who alerted them to three dogs that had been left on a rubbish dump. “When we arrived there, we saw that it was a mother and her two pups. The pups were about five months old. According to the residents, the dog had been roaming the streets and they did not know who the owners were. But, I could see that the mother was well looked after, and although a bit skittish, she was very friendly. They were definitely not feral dogs,” said Mandy.

She took the three dogs home, and after extensive veterinary care, they all received a clean bill of health, and are now ready to go to forever homes. “Shelley, the mother, is approximately two years old, and looks to be a white shepherd. The two pups – one male and one female – are now six and a half months old, but we are not sure of their breed. They have all been microchipped and sterilised, and all their vaccinations are up to date,” she said.
“I’ve been caring for them for almost seven months, and would love to find forever homes for them,” said Mandy .
Mandy added that they will not charge any adoption fees, but should you want to adopt one of the dogs, a strict home check will be done, and an adoption contract will have to be signed. “The contract is for us to keep track of the dogs, and, if for any reason it might be necessary, that the dogs will be returned to us. The microchips will also remain registered in our organisation’s name,” Mandy said.
