Scooter recovered in Strubens Valley

According to the security company’s media liaison officer, Gary Jordaan, a Tactical Response Officer was patrolling Hendrik Potgieter Road in Strubens Valley when he noticed a scooter leaning against the crash barrier near the Retail Crossing Shopping Centre.

 

An allegedly stolen scooter was recovered on Hendrik Potgieter Road in Strubens Valley by a BCI Security officer during a patrol on 5 May.

According to the security company’s media liaison officer, Gary Jordaan, a Tactical Response Officer was patrolling Hendrik Potgieter Road in Strubens Valley when he noticed a scooter leaning against the crash barrier near the Retail Crossing Shopping Centre.

“He stopped to investigate and found the ignition barrel of the scooter had been damaged. Upon further investigation it was found that the scooter had been reported stolen from the Roodepoort area,” said Jordaan.

He added that BCI’s control room called Honeydew Police Station. “They arrived and took the scooter to the police stolen vehicle centre for further investigation,” Jordaan said.

He thanked the officer for his vigilance, and indicated that the owner will soon be reunited with his/ her scooter.
