Traders warned of counterfeit money
Traders advised to triple check notes before accepting them.
Florida Police spokesperson, Sergeant Mpho More is urging shopkeepers and street vendors to on the lookout for fake banknotes.
This after the police confiscated a batch of counterfeit money that was found abandoned in the Robertville area. The confiscation follows information about people buying with these false notes in the area.
It is unclear who the masterminds behind this scam are, but More has appealed for vigilance. “We are appealing to shop owners and street vendors to check the notes people use to pay for food and other items,” she warned.
