Pedestrian left critical after collision

Authorities to investigate the accident.

A man, believed to be in his late 20s, was left critically injured this morning (25 April) when he was knocked over by a light motor vehicle on Hendrik Potgieter Road in Floracliffe.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 7.30am to find a light motor vehicle in the left emergency lane. The body of a man was in the right-hand lane of the road.

Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a serious head injury, which left him in a critical condition. The man was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to Helen Joseph Provincial Hospital for further care.

The driver of the light motor vehicle escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene to investigate the incident.
