Security personnel hot on the heels of fleeing criminal
The security company explained how its officer pursued a criminal who had stolen a vehicle in the area.
A thief was cornered and nabbed by BCI Security personnel when they responded to a car theft incident on 11 April.
According to a report from BCI Security, the suspect managed to steal a vehicle belonging to an employee at a large retailer in Strubens Valley and speed off on Hendrik Potgieter Road, towards Hillfox Shopping Centre.

However, the suspect got stuck in traffic at the intersection of Hendrik Potgieter and Jim Fouché Roads. A security officer jumped out of his vehicle to try and stop the suspect, but the suspect managed to push his way through the traffic and drove off on Jim Fouché Road towards Weltevreden Park.
A chase ensued, with the suspect turning into Without Street in Weltevreden Park. There the officer managed to stop the stolen vehicle and apprehend the thief, as the road is a dead-end.
The suspect was detained until the Honeydew Police arrived on scene.
