Cllr. Caleb Finn and MMC for Environment, Infrastructure and Service Delivery, Cllr. Nico de Jager visited the Sentraal Substation earlier this evening.
According to Councillor Finn, the mobile transfomer is now set up and has passed all the necessary tests, it has been connected and is running, however it requires 24 hours to make sure that it is warmed up, and ready to handle the load.
“Load cannot be placed on this transformer until it is ready,” Councillor Finn said.
If all goes well, the load rotation will be ended tomorrow evening, 16 April.
Cllr. Caleb Finn ended by thanking the teams for working around the clock for the past 3 days to deal with this outage.
