Strengths put to the test in Arnold Classic qualifiers
The event had 35 entries that competed in nine categories.
Local bodybuilders had their fitness tested when they competed in the Arnold Classics Africa qualifiers competition on 6 April.
The competition was held in collaboration with the Africa Strongman Union and Madza Clearwater, where the event was staged.

“This competition was held to allow athletes to qualify to compete in the upcoming Arnold Classics Africa that is taking place from 18 to 20 May. Mazda Clearwater was the main sponsor for the day, with the assistance of the manager and co-owner Riaan de Beer,” said Jan Greyvensteyn, the event coordinator.
The event had 35 entrants competing in nine categories.

The overall winner for the day was Xena Botha, who will be driving a new Mazda CX 3 for a month courtesy of Mazda Clearwater.

· Women U/64kg – Geraldine van Aswegen
· Women U/82kg – Rochelle Reyneke
· Women Open – Xena Botha
· Men U/80kg – Markus Janse van Vuuren
· Men U/90kg – Morne Pyper
· Men U/105kg – David Bezuidenhout
· Men U/105 Masters – Leon le Roux
· Men Open – Johan Rudd
· Men Open Masters – Rassie Erasmus
