Welridge RA seeks to update database through Street Captain campaign
The Welridge Residents Association (WRA) has launched their new Street Captains initiative which will see its members going from door-to-door in an effort to update their community database.
Started over 21 years ago, the Welridge Residents Association (WRA) has come a long way since the days of ‘Bobby on the beat’.
The WRA is run by a committee of six, two of whom serve on the Sector 2 Community Policing Forum. As part of their new ‘Street Captain’ campaign, the six committee members will form part of the 23 individuals who will be walking from door-to-door in their community.
The aim of the campaign is to update their existing community database, so as to provide swifter communication and assistance during emergencies.
The WRA has strong ties and relationships with numerous organisations (private and state), who are all more than willing to assist within the community.
The WRA serves the community that lies within the area bounded by Jim Fouché Road, JG Strijdom Road, John Vorster Drive, Dale Lace Avenue, and Rooihout Avenue. They rely solely on volunteers who live busy lives outside their commitment to the association, so they are asking that you spare them only a few moments of your time when they knock on your door.
You will be able to identify the Street Captains by their fluorescent orange vests which will have the WRA logo on the back for easy identification.
