Palm Court Karate Centre impresses with district and provincial colours
Palm Court Karate Centre has been training karateka for 26 years and has recently unleashed its latest stars.
The Palm Court dojo was founded in 1992 by Sensei Mario Sequeira, a seasoned karateka who has already obtained his fifth dan qualification.
During its 25-year existence, the dojo has produced over 200 black belt holders.
The latest wave of future stars features 12 karateka who were selected to represent their district at Gauteng provincial trials.

At the provincial trials, they competed against karateka from four other districts across the province, and a number of them obtained their provincial colours and went on to represent Gauteng at the Karate South Africa National Championships.
The championships took place on 24 March and saw one of the Palm Court dojo’s karateka, Paige Daniels, place third in the all style championships within the girls cadet Kumite division.
Mario, who is still refining the art of Okinawa Goju-ryu (the traditional karate style) said “The dojo prides itself on its traditional roots and although the accolades have always been welcome, our only goal is to teach authentic karate-do and in doing so produce outstanding future leaders”.
