#HelpFindLee: Candle-light vigil held to find answers
‘We want to thank the community for their ongoing support and prayers’
“We have stopped asking why and started looking at the loss of Lee differently in an effort to accept what God wants us to do,” said an emotional Estelle Delport.

Another candle-light vigil in honour of the missing three-year-old Liyaqat ‘Lee’ Mentoor was held on Saturday, 7 April and Delport explained, “Tonight we decided to start at Lee’s grandmother’s house, where he was last seen, and walk all the way to Kaylah’s boyfriend’s house. It is a distance of approximately two-and-a-half kilometres. On the day of Lee’s disappearance on 16 March, Kaylah ran all this way, which is mostly uphill, looking for answers. Unfortunately, she never received the answers she was looking for.”

Delport added that they decided to walk the whole way as a show of support, and said, “For us, walking this route was nothing compared to what Kaylah must have felt on that fateful day.”
She thanked everyone for their continued support and prayers, and urged the community to not stop looking for Lee.
“The family has been humbled by this experience, and believe everything will be revealed. We believe that we will find our little angel, no matter how hard it might be,” Delport said.

Mentoor’s boyfriend, who was arrested for child neglect on the day Lee went missing, will be appearing in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court again on 11 April, when he will apply for bail.
