Panorama welcomes 100s to opening tournament
Panorama Football Club played host to hundreds of children and parents from various clubs across seven different age groups from 10-11 March.
Panorama FC’s first junior opening tournament was held over two days and played on three different fields, with 92 teams taking part.
Seven age groups were represented at the tournament, all the way from U/6 right up to U/12, with the U/11 and U/12 groups being the only competitive groups.

The U/6, U/8 and U/10 matches were played non-competitively, and the U/6s were by far the most entertaining and adorable to watch on Saturday.
In the U/12 group however, the matches were played competitively and the teams from Florida Albion and Wits made it through to the final.

Florida Albion managed to come out on top after a penalty shootout with their player Gaby Niemack taking home the trophy for best player.
Sunday came and it was time for the even-numbered age groups U/7, U/9 and U/11, to showcase their talents. It was also the day that Panorama would prove themselves worthy hosts in the U/9 and U/11 age groups.
In the Group C final, Panorama B played against Mondeor A in a thrilling match.

At the end of the allotted 20 minutes the teams were level at 1–1 and went to penalties. Mondeor won 2–1.
The Group A and B final was undoubtedly the match of the day.
Panorama opened the scoring after 23 seconds thanks to a goal from Styllianos Michael.

Randburg however managed to rally their troops and staged a strong fightback.
From thereon, the match ebbed and flowed with beautiful soccer being played by both sides.
After equalising, Randburg managed to score the winner off a rebound after an immaculate save by Panorama goalkeeper Matthew Dunkerley, with two minutes remaining.

Matthew Sinclair from Panorama was named the U/11 player of the tournament while Styllianos was crowned the top goalscorer.
