Sixth Allen Lewis-Williams tournament concludes

The 2018 Allen Lewis-Williams memorial tournament came to an end last week Friday, 9 March.

The annual Allen Lewis-Williams memorial tournament is held in honour of a former beloved Honeydew Bowling Club (HBC) member by the same name who unfortunately passed away in 2011.

Every year, funds raised at the tournament are donated to the Guide Dogs Association, with the club managing to collect an amazing R4 500 for the association this year.

There were also several lucky draws, as well as a tongue-in-cheek prize for the longest day.

This year’s tournament was played on 23 February, 2 March, and finally 9 March when the winners were crowned. After the three Fridays of bowls, the winners of the sixth tournament, Louis Fourie, Ray Merrifield and Ute Smith, who managed to score 20 points over the course of their tournament, one point ahead of the runners-up, were crowned.
