A local security company, SRT Security has warned restaurant diners to be on the alert for an infamous phone snatcher who has come under the spotlight in Johannesburg.

According to a video doing the rounds, this phone grabber approaches people sitting in restaurants with their cellphone in their hands, and pretends to be answering a call while he get close to the target and eventually snatches the cellphone, runs out of the shop and swiftly enters a getaway vehicle without being caught.

SRT also warned that if anyone comes across a similar approach, “You should get a good look at them and put your belongings away”.
